Commuting Distances Rise: More High-Earning Millennials Work Remotely Far From Employers
- Mean distance between employee residence and employer location increased from 10 to 27 miles between 2019 and 2023
- 5.5% of employees lived over 50 miles from their employer in 2023
- High-earning Millennials working in Information or Finance/Insurance most likely to live far from employer
- Percentage of fully remote workers goes down as income goes up
- Colorado has highest percentage of remote workers at 21% while Mississippi has lowest at 5.5%
