BSP MP Ritesh Pandey Resigns to Join BJP After Lunch with PM Modi
• BSP MP Ritesh Pandey resigned from the party and primary membership on Sunday, saying the party leadership has not involved him in meetings or spoken to him.
• Pandey then joined the BJP in New Delhi shortly after resigning from the BSP.
• His resignation comes days after having lunch with PM Modi and 7 other opposition MPs in the Parliament canteen.
• In his resignation letter to Mayawati, Pandey said the party does not need his service and presence anymore.
• Pandey has been the BSP MP from Ambedkar Nagar since 2019 and was appointed the party's Lok Sabha leader in January 2020.
