Rivian Owners Gain Access to Tesla Superchargers with Adapter, Expanding Charging Network
-
Rivian owners can now access Tesla's Supercharger network using an adapter, expanding Tesla's charging business.
-
Rivian owners can use Superchargers with a NACS plug by attaching an adapter issued by Rivian or a certified NACS to CCS1 adapter.
-
Compatible Superchargers will show up in Rivian's navigation system, displaying charger speeds and availability. Charging begins automatically via "plug and charge".
-
This follows a similar deal Tesla made with Ford to open up the Supercharger network.
-
Rivian's upcoming R2 and R3 vehicles will have the Tesla NACS inlet plug as standard. Current R1 vehicles will get it in 2025.
