Russia Issues Arrest Warrant for Alexei Navalny's Brother Oleg

Russia has issued a warrant for the arrest of Alexei Navalny's brother Oleg on unspecified charges, days after Alexei's death in prison.

Oleg was already wanted for allegedly violating COVID restrictions by encouraging protests. He fled Russia in 2021.

Oleg has long supported his brother Alexei's opposition movement against the Kremlin.

In 2014, Oleg was convicted of fraud in a case seen as politically motivated to put pressure on Alexei.

Both Navalny brothers were previously convicted of fraud, with Oleg sentenced to over 3 years in prison before his 2018 release.
