• Saber Interactive has split from Embracer Group, taking 38 game projects and over 3,000 staff to a new company called Beacon Interactive
• Beacon Interactive is set up and controlled by Saber co-founder Matthew Karch, valued at $247 million initially
• As part of the deal, Beacon has the option to acquire Metro developer 4A Games and pinball developer Zen Studios
• Embracer retains rights to 14 Saber games in progress, including AAA projects like Space Marine 2 and KOTOR remake
• This is the "first transaction" for Embracer, with a sale of Gearbox Entertainment also in progress as Embracer restructures
