Samsung's Galaxy Watch Gets Sleep Apnea Detection with South Korea Approval

Samsung's new sleep apnea feature for the Galaxy Watch series has been approved by South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

The feature will monitor blood oxygen levels during sleep to identify symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea.

It is designed to help users spot sleep apnea symptoms earlier before their condition worsens.

The feature joins other health monitoring capabilities like blood pressure, ECG, and irregular heart rhythm detection.

It will be available on Galaxy Watch models in South Korea in early 2023 via a Samsung Health Monitor app update.
