Samsung Upgrades Galaxy A55 with Larger Display, Faster Chip, and Longer Support
-
The Galaxy A55 has a larger 6.6" display vs 6.4" on the A54, metal frame instead of plastic, new Exynos 1480 chip for better performance, and Gorilla Glass Victus.
-
Cameras are the same on paper - 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro - but A55 promises better low-light shots with new AI image processing.
-
Both have 5,000mAh batteries with 25W wired charging, but no wireless charging. A55 will get one extra year of software support.
-
A55 launches March 20 in select (non-US) markets starting around $564. A54 still sold in US for under $400.
-
If in US, A54 still a good option. If in UK/Europe without A54, A55 a decent upgrade for the midrange. We'll update after testing A55 further.
