Samsung Unveils New Exynos 2400 Chip for Upcoming Galaxy S24, Promises Improved Performance
-
Samsung presented its new Exynos 2400 chipset for the upcoming Galaxy S24 at its System LSI Tech Day event. It offers improved CPU, GPU, and AI performance over the Exynos 2200.
-
The Exynos 2400 will compete against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that will power the Galaxy S24 models sold in the US. Both chips are made with Samsung's 3nm process.
-
Leaked specs show the Exynos 2400 with 1x Cortex-X4, 2x Cortex-A720, 3x Cortex-A720, and 4x Cortex-A520 cores. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will have 1x Cortex-X4, 3x Cortex-A720, 2x Cortex-A720, and 2x Cortex-A520.
-
Samsung will use the Exynos 2400 in the regular Galaxy S24 and S24+ in Korea and Europe. The S24 Ultra globally gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
-
This processor fragmentation is for cost control and to provide business to both Samsung's mobile and chipset divisions. Korea gets Exynos as a "symbolic market."
