Samsung and Google to Fully Merge 'Quick Share' and 'Nearby Share' Apps in 2024
-
Samsung's Quick Share and Google's Nearby Share apps for Windows won't fully merge until Q3 2024. The apps will remain separate until then.
-
The rollout of the merged Quick Share service started Feb 2nd for Samsung devices and will continue through Feb 16th.
-
When the merger is complete, Nearby Share chips in Galaxy devices will be removed.
-
Samsung's Windows Quick Share app only works with Galaxy Books, while Google's Nearby Share works more universally.
-
The updated Quick Share app has rolled out via the Galaxy Store to Android devices with the new merged logo, but Windows support is still separate.
