Santos Faces Expanding Legal Troubles and Calls for Expulsion Over Lies and Alleged Finance Crimes

Rep. George Santos faces expanding legal troubles linked to alleged campaign finance crimes. He's set to plead not guilty at an arraignment on Friday.

The scandal-plagued GOP freshman has been indicted on 23 felony counts and stripped of his committee assignments.

Santos lied extensively about his background before winning a House seat in 2022. He fabricated much of his résumé and personal history.

Fellow New York Republicans introduced a resolution on Thursday to expel Santos from Congress over his "many deceptions."

Santos warned he will wage "#PoliticalWarfare" against the GOP lawmakers seeking his ouster from the House. He said he'll have "a lot of time" to get back at them.
