Nintendo shared a video of Shigeru Miyamoto and Charles Martinet, the former voice of Mario.
In the video, Miyamoto thanks Martinet for his years voicing Mario and introduces him as the new Mario Ambassador.
Martinet says he will be traveling the world to meet fans in his new role.
The new voice actor for Mario and other characters will be revealed when the Super Mario Bros. movie launches in October.
Martinet voiced Mario since his first mainline game appearance in Super Mario 64.
