New Unicode 15.1 Update Adds Hundreds of New Emoji, Characters and Symbols

New emoji in Unicode 15.1 include shaking/nodding heads, phoenix, lime, "edible mushroom", and broken chain. Also updates to family emoji.
New emoji are modifications of existing emoji using "zero-width joiner" to combine them.
622 new Chinese, Japanese, Korean characters added, mainly for public service databases in China.
Unicode 15.1 supports nearly 150,000 total characters, including 3,782 emoji.
Operating systems need updates to support new emoji designs. � symbols mean emoji not supported.
