SoftBank CEO believes artificial general intelligence (AGI) will be realized within 10 years. He says it will be 10x more intelligent than all human intelligence combined.

Son notes the rapid progress in generative AI that he says has exceeded human intelligence in some areas already.

Son argues it's wrong to think AI can't surpass human intelligence since AI is self-learning, self-training, and self-inferencing like humans.

This is the first time Son has given a 10-year timeline for AGI development. He's spoken of AGI's transformative potential before.

Son also introduced the idea of "Artificial Super Intelligence" that would surpass human intelligence by 10,000x in 20 years.
