Sony Announces Slimmer, Lighter PS5 Slim Launching Next Month for the Holidays

Sony announced a slimmer, lighter PS5 Slim model releasing next month just in time for the holidays. The new model is 30% smaller in volume and 18-24% lighter.

The PS5 Slim will have 1TB of SSD storage instead of 825GB, along with some minor aesthetic changes to the casing.

The disk version of the PS5 Slim remains $499 but the digital version increases to $449 from $399.

Once older models sell out, the PS5 Slim will be the only version available for purchase.

The PS5 Slim will start rolling out in November in select regions and continue expanding globally in the following months.
