Sony PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan to Retire in 2024, Hiroki Totoki Named as Successor

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has announced his retirement in March 2024 after almost 30 years with PlayStation.

Hiroki Totoki, Sony Group Corporation President, will become chairman of SIE starting October 2023 and interim CEO in April 2024.

Totoki will work with Kenichiro Yoshida and SIE management on PlayStation's future, including succession of the CEO role.

Ryan said the work schedule required led him to reassess after 30 years in the business.

Yoshida thanked Ryan for his outstanding achievements, including the PlayStation 5 launch during the pandemic.
