Stardew Valley 1.6 Lets Players Chop Fruit Trees for Quality Saplings
• Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone shared the first line from the 1.6 update patch notes, revealing fruit trees can now be chopped down to yield saplings of the same quality.
• The patch notes line reads "Cutting doan a fruit tree now yields the appropriate fruit sapling. If the tree is mature, it will yield a sapling with the same quality as its fruit."
• The change will make reshaping farms with fruit trees less of an ordeal since higher quality saplings mature faster when replanted.
• Fans welcomed the new quality of life update, with the tweet receiving over 48,000 likes at the time of writing.
• The 1.6 update also adds 8-player multiplayer on PC, a new farm layout, late game content, new dialogue, and more.
