Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Switch Emulator
-
Nintendo sued Yuzu, a free Nintendo Switch emulator, and won $2.4 million settlement. Yuzu agrees to shut down immediately.
-
Citra, a free 3DS emulator from the same company, will also shut down as part of the lawsuit.
-
Yuzu's developers said they created the emulators out of passion for Nintendo, not to cause harm. But Nintendo claims it enabled piracy.
-
Yuzu's website and code repositories have already been removed. The developers are barred from creating anything similar in the future.
-
This continues Nintendo's history of legally pursuing and ruining the lives of video game pirates. Other emulators have faced huge financial consequences.
