Nintendo Sues Creators of Switch Emulator Yuzu for Colossal Scale Piracy
-
Nintendo is suing the creators of the Switch emulator Yuzu for facilitating piracy "at a colossal scale" by allowing users to play Nintendo games without authorization.
-
Yuzu's creator, Tropic Haze, has responded that they have retained legal counsel and will formally respond to Nintendo's lawsuit within 60 days.
-
Nintendo is seeking damages from Tropic Haze as well as wanting the Yuzu emulator to be shut down.
-
Yuzu continues to be available despite the lawsuit.
-
This is not Nintendo's first legal action against emulators or piracy, having previously sued hacker Gary Bowser and sentenced him to 40 months in prison.
