British Tech Founder Mike Lynch Faces $11B Fraud Trial in HP Acquisition of Autonomy

Mike Lynch, British tech founder and co-founder of Autonomy, faces trial in the US for allegedly defrauding HP in the $11B sale of his company.

Prosecutors allege Lynch and another executive inflated Autonomy's revenue through improper accounting to entice the sale to HP.

HP wrote down Autonomy's value by $8.8B post-acquisition, claiming serious accounting improprieties.

Lynch denies allegations, says he focused on tech and trusted finances to Autonomy's CFO.

If convicted, Lynch faces 16 counts of fraud and conspiracy. He was released on $100M bond under house arrest before trial.
