Apple Moves Spell Trouble for DIY 'Hackintosh' Mac Builders
- Hackintosh community says "Hackintosh is on its deathbed" due to Apple Silicon transition and removal of driver support
- Apple has removed driver support for old Broadcom Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards that were key to many Hackintosh builds
- Those cards allowed Hackintoshes to work with iMessage, FaceTime, Continuity, etc. "out of the box"
- Lack of support means limited functionality and reliability going forward, making Hackintoshes less viable
- Marks "end of an era" for DIY Mac builds, but affordable official Macs like $599 Mac mini provide an alternative
