US Solar Manufacturers Strike $400M Deal to Produce Fully American-Made Solar Panels, Aided by New Tax Credits
- Heliene (Minnesota) and Suniva (Georgia) struck a $400 million, 3-year deal to make fully US-made crystalline solar panels
- Suniva will supply US-made solar cells to Heliene, which will incorporate them into panels
- The panels will hit the market in mid-2024 and be the first crystalline solar panels with US-made cells
- The deal enables the panels to qualify for a 10% Domestic Content Bonus Investment Tax Credit
- The tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act are helping revive US solar manufacturing after major job losses between 2016-2020
