San Diego Leads California Job Growth in 2023, While San Francisco Declines
- San Diego gained the most jobs (21,000) of any California region in 2023
- Inland Empire posted second highest job growth (19,800), followed by Sacramento (18,200)
- San Francisco actually lost 11,400 jobs in 2023, an anomaly for the state
- California had disappointing 0.87% job growth in 2023, far below 5.5% growth in 2022
- Texas gaining on California with 3.3% job growth in 2023 compared to California's 0.87%
