Pakistan's Regional Trade Deficit Inches Up 0.5% in July-Jan as Exports Rise but Imports Climb Faster
- Pakistan's trade deficit with 9 regional countries rose 0.5% to $4.539 billion in July-January 2023-24
- Exports to regional countries increased 21.64%, mainly to China and Sri Lanka
- Imports from regional countries rose 7.32%, mostly from China and India
- Bulk of regional exports (60%) go to China; bulk of imports sourced from China
- Exports increased to China, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives but fell for Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh
