American Soldier Returns Home After 2 Months in North Korea Following Diplomatic Efforts
-
Travis King, an American soldier who crossed into North Korea 2 months ago, is back in U.S. custody after efforts by the U.S. government and help from Sweden and China.
-
King appears to be in good health and spirits and has spoken to his family as he returns home.
-
North Korea transferred King to Sweden, who drove him into China and transferred him to U.S. officials before boarding a flight out.
-
Sweden served as an intermediary between the U.S. and North Korea as the protecting power for the U.S. there.
-
China helped facilitate King's transfer out of the country. There were no concessions given for King's release.
