Granholm Touts Biden's Domestic Manufacturing and Clean Energy Investments During Milwaukee Visit

U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm visited Milwaukee to tout progress on the Biden administration's "Investing in America" initiative to encourage domestic manufacturing and clean energy.

She pointed to three local companies - Ingeteam, Copeland, and Walnut Way Conservation Corp. - as examples of the initiative's impact.

The initiative has led to $650 billion in investments in semiconductors, clean tech, and other industries over 3 years, with 600 new or expanded factories.

Clean energy transition faces challenges like an overloaded electric grid, but DOE is working urgently with operators on solutions.

Granholm attended a listening session with community leaders and toured an energy-efficient affordable housing renovation project.
