Johnson Seeks Separate Votes on Biden's Proposed Ukraine, Israel Aid

Newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson said Ukraine and Israel funding should be handled separately, not in Biden's proposed $106B package.

Johnson has concerns about Ukraine funding and thinks Israel funding needs cuts elsewhere to pay for it.

Biden's proposal includes $61B for Ukraine and $14.3B for Israel.

Johnson said House Republicans will bring a standalone $14B+ bill for Israel funding.

House Republicans will look to cut other areas of the budget to finance the Israel funding.
