Parkland victim voices revived to advocate for gun reform on anniversary
-
The Shotline campaign launched on the 6th anniversary of the Parkland shooting uses AI to recreate voices of gun violence victims to call representatives to advocate for gun reform.
-
The campaign is led by Brett Cross, guardian of Uziyah Garcia, one of the children killed in Uvalde, in partnership with gun reform groups Change the Ref and March For Our Lives.
-
The website allows people to select one of 6 victim voices to call their representatives with a prerecorded message asking them to change gun laws.
-
The goal is for the familiar voices of victims to inspire greater action from representatives compared to unknown advocates.
-
Cross hopes more families impacted by gun violence will join the campaign for greater impact.
