United Airlines Resuming Tel Aviv Flights in March, Becoming First U.S. Carrier to Restart Israel Service Since October Attacks
- United Airlines will resume flights from New York/Newark to Tel Aviv in March, becoming first US carrier to restart Israel service after October attacks
- Initial flights in March will stop in Munich to ensure readiness before resuming daily nonstop service on March 6
- United previously flew nonstop to Tel Aviv from hubs in San Francisco, Washington Dulles and Chicago, but won't restart those until at least fall
- Decision came after collaboration between security experts, government officials, pilots union and flight attendants union
- Non-American carriers like Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Aegean and Air France have also resumed Tel Aviv flights
