UN Forms 39-Member Advisory Group on AI Ethics and Governance

UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced a 39-member advisory body on AI governance with tech executives, government officials, and academics.

Members include Sony, OpenAI, Microsoft executives along with representatives from 6 continents with diverse backgrounds.

The body will address issues in international governance of AI and build consensus on risks.

It will provide preliminary recommendations by end of 2022 and final ones by summer 2024.
