House Speaker Stalemate Stalls Crypto Legislation, Despite Support From Some Lawmakers

Certain lawmakers continue to push anti-crypto policies, with over 100 representatives signing a letter linking crypto to terrorism financing after a Hamas attack.

The lack of House leadership is unprecedented in US history. After several failed nomination rounds, no Republican has enough support to become Speaker.

Representative Patrick McHenry is currently serving as temporary Speaker. As House Financial Services chair, he has overseen several key crypto bills, but his interim role prevents progress.
