FCC Investigates Amazon, Retailers for Potentially Selling Illegal Signal-Jamming Devices

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is investigating Amazon and other retailers for potentially marketing and selling illegal electronic devices.

The FCC states that these retailers may be violating Commission rules by selling equipment without proper FCC authorization.

NBC News reported that several online retailers and drone companies have been selling radio frequency jammers that can disable security cameras and block Wi-Fi networks, violating federal laws.

Amazon did not immediately respond to the allegations.

NBC News said it found 9 independent Amazon sellers recently marketing illegal "jammer" devices.
