Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers at a Staten Island hospital during his trip to NYC for the UN General Assembly.

Zelensky thanked the soldiers, handed out awards, and helped one soldier stand up from his wheelchair for a photo.

The hospital has treated 18 Ukrainian soldiers since March. The CEO said they are honored to help however they can.

The soldiers are passionate about recovering so they can return to Ukraine to help their country, which inspired the staff.

Zelensky plans to meet with Biden and Congress to request more US assistance, and address the UN to propose strengthening territorial integrity.
