Wawa Celebrates 60 Years of Convenience Stores with Free Coffee, Look Back at History
- Wawa is celebrating its 60th anniversary as a convenience store on April 16 by giving away free coffee and looking back on its history
- The company was founded in 1803 as an iron foundry, became a dairy farm in 1892, and opened its first convenience store in 1964
- On Tuesday, former NFL player Devon Still will pour ceremonial free coffee at one store, and the National Constitution Center will host a free Wawa exhibit
- Overall, Wawa is giving away 1.5 million free cups of coffee in any size on April 16
- Wawa now has over 1,000 stores in 6 states and Washington D.C., but started as a small dairy farm and store in Folsom, PA
