All employees at a Dollar General store in Mineral Point, Wisconsin quit and walked off the job over issues with lack of appreciation, being overworked and underpaid.

Employees were also upset over a donations policy that required throwing out expired or no longer sold items rather than donating them.

The store was closed for about 3 hours before reopening.

Dollar General's statement apologized for the inconvenience and said they are committed to providing an environment where employees feel valued.

The Mineral Point Dollar General donated nearly 7,500 pounds of food to local food banks over the past 12 months.
