Williamson County Leaders Court South Korean Companies to Support Samsung's Texas Plant

Williamson County leaders recently visited South Korea to attract businesses to support Samsung's semiconductor plant in Taylor, TX. They spoke with 27 companies and made good leads.

The county partners with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to contact diverse industries like automotive, medical devices, and solar software.

Samsung Austin Semiconductor said its 2022-2023 economic impact on the region doubled from the previous year to $26.8 billion.

Samsung attributes part of this to its Taylor campus, which also generates $245.6 million in annual revenues for local tax districts.

The Taylor mayor confirms Samsung's "transformational growth" has increased sales and use tax revenue 226% over last year, helping pay for city operations and services.
