Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Update with 25 Bug Fixes, Security Patches, and HTTP/2 Attack Mitigation

Microsoft released Windows 10 cumulative update KB5031356 for 21H2 and 22H2 versions, containing 25 fixes.

KB5031356 is a mandatory update with October 2023 Patch Tuesday security fixes. Users can install it via Settings > Windows Update.

Key fixes include improved taskbar search experience, animations on news/interests button, Excel PDF sharing issue, and touch keyboard not opening.

Update provides mitigation for new HTTP/2 DDoS attack technique called Rapid Reset.

IT admins can configure new registry keys introduced to limit HTTP/2 client resets and send GOAWAY messages when limit reached.
