China Builds World's Largest Wind Turbine, Sets New Power Generation Record

China has built the world's largest wind turbine, the Goldwind GWH252-16MW, with a rotor diameter of 827 feet.

The turbine generated a record 384.1 megawatt-hours of electricity in one day during Typhoon Haikui.

This output could power around 170,000 homes and exceeded the previous record set in Denmark.

China has ambitious renewable energy goals, aiming for 1,200 GW of solar and wind power by 2030.

The turbine's huge size shows the potential of wind energy to produce clean, sustainable power at scale.
