Apple Releases iOS, macOS Updates to Fix Security Flaws That Could Allow Hackers to Take Over Devices
-
Apple released iOS 17.4.1 and macOS 14.4.1 to patch security vulnerabilities related to processing malicious images that could allow device takeover.
-
The iOS update fixes flaws in CoreMedia and WebRTC that could enable arbitrary code execution if exploited.
-
The macOS update patches the same flaws as iOS and also fixes bugs related to USB hubs, copy-protected plugins, and Java app crashes.
-
Both updates are important to install soon even though they don't add new features, as the flaws could be exploited if not patched.

To update, go to Settings > General > Software Update on iPhone or System Settings > General > Software Update on Mac.
