Epic Games is selling Bandcamp to music marketing company Songtradr 18 months after acquiring it.
-
Songtradr will continue operating Bandcamp as a marketplace and music community with the same artist-first revenue share model.
-
Songtradr framed the acquisition as a way for Bandcamp artists to secure licensing deals, including with Epic Games.
-
The sale was announced along with layoffs of 16% of Epic Games' workforce and divesting SuperAwesome.
-
Earlier this year, some of Bandcamp's staff formed a union called Bandcamp United.
